Course Description
“Buddhism for Beginner” is a basic Buddhism course that introduces beginners to a systematic approach to learning Buddhism.
It begins with the significant events of Shakyamuni Buddha’s life, followed by a brief introduction of his teachings.
Then it explains the various school of thoughts and paths (that beginners may have already been exposed to) and outlines the progressive stages of the path to Buddhahood.
In the process of learning, students are encouraged to put into practice what they have learned and to pen down their thoughts for later reflection.
Course Objective
At the end of the course, students should have a brief idea of Buddha and his teachings.
With the teachings in mind, they would be in a better position to make choices that will lead to ultimate joy.
This beginner course is just a steppingstone for students to further their learning in Buddhism.
After which, students can attend courses that explain the Hinayana, Mahayana and Vajrayana teachings in greater depth.
